Dear Lewis, Mini and I miss you very much but take solace that your passing appeared to be very peaceful. I still talk to you every day. The sadness I feel is for myself, you are with the angels. Watch over us, till we meet again. Vickie

I was lucky enough to meet Lew in 1972. He was a friend who cared about every aspect of his friends lives. When my daughter was born in 1974, Lew and his roomie “Tall Paul” were there for me, always. When I was in need Lew was always there for me. His support and kind heart was a blessing. Financial help, a shoulder to lean on, a babysitter, someone to laugh with, an evening at Jai Alai, breakfast at Denny’s......Looking back, I think he would have loved to raise my little one (but assured me I could keep her, if I did a good enough job at the parenting thingy! ) We will miss him, his laughter, his incredible green thumb, and the way he smiled when he saw me. He was needed by people he loved. This is such a loss to his sister and his nephew. Please Mary, if you need help call me. I will message you my number. Sleep well our Lew.

This unexpected news is simply heartbreaking. I knew Lew since we were both 19 years old. After meeting, Lew and I shared a home for five (5) years, working and attending college. I'll be forever grateful for having the honor of sharing something with Lew that far surpassed just a passing friendship. Lew was instrumental in encouraging me to continue my education throughout college culminating in completing post graduate studies and beyond. I know there are many people Lew touched in similar positive ways, but for me Lew absolutely was, and always remained, that special friend who was loved dearly. I know Lew is in God's embrace and he will forever be missed but thankfully he left behind such wonderful memories that will always be cherished. Rest in Peace my dear friend and please know you were loved dearly.
